This unit is Iridium® based which gives you global coverage, it connects using an app on your smartphone and needs an active subscription plan. It comes with its own SMS number and email to share with your contacts, and you can use the check-in button to let them you’re ok. The SOS button allows you to send your GPS coordinates to their monitoring/dispatch partner, and you’ll get confirmation it was received and the option to cancel if it’s a false alarm. Compact, lightweight, shock, and dust-resistant it’s also got a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that lasts for 200+ hours.
