Looking for something that really shreds? Gerber Gear and Fender Guitars come together to create a showpiece blade that you might get for free.
The knife and multitool maker teamed up with Fender guitar designers to make a trio of custom knives and a one-of-a-kind guitar.
No, the knives won’t play a note, but both brands are known for style, custom options, and a made-in-USA ethos.
Custom Guitar & Knives
Gerber Gear, known for its knives and multitools, collaborated with legendary Fender Guitars to show off some shared traits. Both brands are standouts in their respective industries, both have American-made manufacturing, and then there’s the whole world of customization.
Gerber launched Gerber Custom on its website in 2020, giving customers a way to give their knives a unique design. Fender has been customizing guitars since 1987 and has created many sought-after guitars for musicians and collectors alike.
For this collab, Gerber leaned on ambassadors Luke Wessman and Tim Montana for design input. Wessman is a tattoo artist and designer known around the world for his take on classic sailor-style artwork. Montana is a country musician.
“At Gerber we felt the combination of both Tim and Luke’s work would be the perfect showcase of American Made products,” said Todd Bischoff, creative director at Gerber. “Both self-made men, Luke and Tim’s collaboration on the project speaks to the heart of creators and artists across the globe.”
Wessman chose the phrase “Never Quit” from Montana’s song “American Thread,” which he felt embodies the American spirit reflected in both brands.
